Tulane Green Waves tickets – A team with a desperate need for speed!

If Tulane Green Waves coaching staff looks around the football practice field, they will find a track. Surely, they would be thinking to put that to good use.

This summarizes the speed woes of the Tulane Green Waves. Game after game, the Green Waves lost, and primarily because of their lack of speed. This has resulted in the coaching staff to think of some ways by which they could work on the speed of their players. Maybe, the track could come in handy here!

Tulane Coach Boleido summarizes this, the best, “No speed, no wins!” This sentiment finds a lot of credibility given the fact that the Green Waves have lost 8 games on the trot recently to land a win loss record of 2-10. This is not to say that Green Waves do not have any positives about them. For starters, in terms of weight, they should be one of the heaviest teams in the league.

But the face of NFL has changed in a big way! Speed and athleticism has replaced brute power. This is where all the teams have spruced up their plans and have been able to chalk up victories. This is where the Tulane Green Waves have come short. They have just not been able to find some speedy athletes who could rattle the defense of the opposition.

This is a problem, which Tulane thinks can be addressed best by recruiting speedy talent in their ranks. 14 players have already committed to the team, and 11 places are vacant. Positions of wide receivers, defensive backs and linebackers are up for grabs. The recruiting coordinator of Tulane Green Waves is looking for defensive guys to be able to multi-task. Basically, the Green Waves are looking for defensive guys to be physically tough and be able to handle multiple positions.

The position of receivers is where the Green Waves are looking to recruit fresh talent. Obviously, no team would like to play a fresher in any position, but considering the dynamics of a NFL game, this surely is a position that should go to a college guy. Karr receiver Sullen seems to be the top bet for this position.

But Tulane’s problems really are not what seem to the naked eye! There is enough talent available outside, but Tulane have just not been able to roll out the offers to these guys. Experts believe this is rather strange because Tulane does need people who are game breakers. These guys can be found, but is Tulane really interested in recruiting these guys?

By the looks of it, it really seems unlikely! Tulane has either been delaying the offers or been rejecting offers outright. And the hunt continues! A hunt for some speedy guys who could cause a fortune reversal for Tulane! Really, as coach Boleido puts it, if this problem is taken care of, they could win more games.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles tickets - McKee a Rock Solid Right Tackle

Ryan McKee has been at the forefront of providing a lot of firepower to the Southern Miss team.

Ryan McKee, the Spanish Fort, Ala native has been one of the popular players in the Southern Miss lineup. He has been having an incredible last couple of seasons, and in 2008, he has been having a dream run at that with his performance. The only glitch in what seemed to be an otherwise glittering year, McKee let a sack slip by.

In the match up against Central Florida, where Southern Miss emerged victors 17-6, Ryan allowed a Central defender to breach his sack. McKee has introspected on that slip, and attributes that to poor technique. He surely did have some sleepless nights over that slip, but everything related to that miss seems to be over, as Ryan prepares for the games ahead.

If Coach Larry Fedora has to be believed, Ryan McKee surely is not a guy on whom one would need to spend a lot of time discussing. Weighing 300 pounds and standing 6’6” tall, he is one player who is almost everywhere on the playing field. He is aggressive and tackles his opponents rather furiously. No wonder why Ryan McKee has got so many sacks against his name with very few misses.

McKee’s career started to take a turn for good with his sophomore seasons. McKee feels that playing in a team as a sophomore was an excellent initiation for him. It was this season that taught him a lot of tricks of the trade, and McKee now is considered being one of the best players in this domain.

December 21, 2008, when Southern Miss take on field at the Louisiana Superdrome, Ryan would be making his 40th start. And a consecutive start at that! If that is not enough proof for credentials of a player, then what is! McKee has had tremendous success under old coach, Jeff Bower. But with Jeff’s exit and the entry of the new coach Fedora, a lot of questions were asked by a lot of players.

McKee, to his credit, put things behind, and turned on sack after sack. Soon enough, he along with his group of offensive linemen established a reputation of being fearsome and merciless. Earning the coach’s and the opposition’s respect is not an easy thing to do, but Ryan McKee definitely has earned that and more.

Plans ahead for Ryan McKee! –Surely, if he continues in the same vein, an NFL cap does not seem too far away from him. Coach Fedora feels the same way. Ask McKee and he would tell you that he is targeting the NFL Cap and has high ambitions of capping one. He has though kept his options open. If the NFL Cap does not work out, he would get back to his Business Management studies.

That really would be a shame as the world would miss out on some of the exciting prowess of Ryan McKee. The aggressive play style of Ryan McKee is something that opponents fear coming their way, but spectators do not!

SMU Mustangs tickets - an All-Academic Team with a lot more than Muscle

With their latest additions to the team, the SMU Mustangs team seems to be one that has enough muscle firepower and elegance to their play.

The latest additions to their team are Mitch Enright and Pete Fleps. Both Mitch and Pete are students, and for a student to land a place in the team, they would need to have a GPA score of 3.2 and above. Most All-Academic teams were able to land two student athletes with the exception of Marshall, Southern Miss, Tulane and UTEP. These teams were able to net one student athlete each.

Mitch Enright scored 3.99 on his GPA scoresheet as a management major. This allowed him to find a place in the Mustangs’ team. As of now, Enright is enrolled with Cox’s School of Business and is pursuing a post graduate management degree. This comes on the back of his finishing the undergraduate management degree within a record time of three years. He has been an active participant in sports as well. He is a member of the All-District Football Team and a Conference USA Academic winner. He has also won the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for two years in succession.

Clearly, there is one thing in Mitch that possibly the whole of Mustangs may not be able to collect together – Brains! His more than acceptable GPA Score is a perfect testimony to that. One look at the games that he has played and it is easy for people to know that here is a guy that plays primarily with his brains and not muscle power. The Mustangs team already boasting of some heavy-knockers, just seems to add some more muscle with the addition of Enright.

As if that was not enough, sophomore team mate, Pete Fleps also finds a place in the team. Pete may not be as academically strong as Mitch, with his GPA score of 3.54 enough proof to the fact, but in terms of game play, he is second to no one else. Pete has the unique distinction of scoring 23 tackles in one game in Navy. Now, not many players have been able to get that kind of achievement. Only three players before Pete have been able to claim that achievement to their names.

For Pete, the list of achievements continues with 106 tackles for the SMU in the year 2008. Four pass breakups, 6.5 tackles with loss and some fumbles and shacks, really puts him at the top of the table of all SMU academic players. In terms of credentials on the field, Pete is not too far away from Mitch.

Pete and Mitch, it must be said, seem to be excellent investments for the Mustangs team. With their intellect and tackles along with the aggressive style of play they bring to the table, these guys would be tremendous value add to the team.
